What makes you think they were announcing daily deaths on that day?

CNN was presenting it as totals from that day (in addition to updating the totals throughout the day) and not from 6 weeks prior. That's what makes me think it.

MIL watches that shit nearly 24/7 until it's too much even for her. Then she switches over to Hallmark...
