Why would they be grounded for that. We have had 5G all over Canada for the last year and no planes were grounded?
It's more about the specific frequencies being used. At&t and Verizon are starting to use "C-band" 3.7ghz to 4Ghz for 5g service. Radar altimeters use 4.2ghz to 4.4ghz. The claim is that the 5g transmissions are causing radar altimeters to glitch out.
5g can operate on plenty of other frequencies. It looks like Canadian carriers are all <2Ghz.
