Legacy dot com is used by the large "papers" to list obituaries. In the advanced search section
you can specify a date range. I chose the month of December for 3 (Chicago Trib, NYT and Boston
Herald) and the years 2017, 2020 & 2021. Entering the full month for some yielded the number "1000+
results" so I needed to divide the month (ie 12/1 thru 12/15 and then 12/16 thru 12/31) to come up
with the totals but here are the total number of obituaries:
Chicago Tribune:
December 2017 - 1,177
December 2020 - 1,082
December 2021 - 814
NYT:
December 2017 - 533
December 2020 - 507
December 2021 - 409
Boston Globe:
December 2017 - 1,244
December 2020 - 1,103
December 2021 - 983
I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for this...
Simple, just as suspected, we've been lied to on a gross level by DC and then hyper-jacked by the MSM spreading the fear porn and death tickers. What a load of shit we've had to watch.
Thanks I was wondering if I was missing anything and wasn't aware these would be mixed in. I don't think they would affect the whole point of the post however? I welcome any other feedback and encourage others to look at their own local obits!
OK did a quick scan of the obituaries looking for death anniversary posts on Sundays to subtract out:
December 2017 had 5 Sundays:
NYT - 16 total
Chicago Trib - 5 total
December 2020 - 4 Sundays:
NYT - 5 total
Not going through more I think they are too minimal. There are also a smattering of obits where the person died in another state but an obituary printed in a city they spent alot of time in their life.
The chicom virus was a culling of the elderly and those with comorbidities. Killed them early in 2020 with the help of dem Governors in NY, NJ and Conn and others. Once those were killed, the rest of the year was probably lower than normal deaths. That's my guess.

Were you able to separate out the "death anniversary" entries?

Sundays appear to be a popular day for them.

Don't forget PA.
NYT Obituary totals during the HEIGHT of the pandemic there was 1344 for March & April 2020.
March & April 2017 - 1261
magamother98 is this your research? I am sharing and want to accredit.
Yes but since I am currently happy and not at all suicidal you can take it and run without needing to credit me :)
For what it's worth, I've been seeing lots of advertising by funeral homes lately on TV
I always said this…call the funeral homes..have the numbers changed? Nope
Now…after the vaccines …much different story. Call them locally.
