I forgot to add that emptiness created in the persons soul from a lifetime addicted to material things is what gets them into drugs (recreational and prescribed anti depressants. Anti anxiety etc). Luckily some find God when they reach rock bottom. Dark night of the soul. Unfortunately not all make it out in one piece.

Our son is an addict. We all went on a crazy scary roller coaster ride for about a decade. Thank God and with God, he's been sober for 3 years.
