Maybe bc the object rentering would always be perpendicular to the earth’s surface since it’s a globe and the object is moving fast enough that the rotation of the earth would be negligible?
It would come in at some sort of angle, but an East to West orbit is much more expensive to put up there than a West to East. The think that throws it all off is that it's a time lapse, if the object was falling that fast and picked up in more than one frame, it means those drifting clouds are breaking the speed of sound, not likely.
Why completely verticle? What if it came in on an angle?
