Medical School trains really high-level technicians with established protocols and medications approved for only certain conditions. The 'creative thinkers' are the private practice doctors and those in research (ie, not beholden to an overriding Group Practice manager (physician or otherwise) who is responsible for a bottom line to 'stakeholders').
Sorry I've no sympathy and no understanding of their perspective.
Because they dropped the ball, I've had to learn all this shit about viruses and immunology and do their fucking job for them. They can't use the excuse that they are dumb or not paying attention. This is their fucking job to search for information about how to help their patients, and when things doesn't seem to be making sense they shouldn't have used their brains to figure it out. Like we had to.
