Religious exemptions are the right of any citizen under the 1964 Civil Rights Act. You don't ask for an exemption, you notify the company you a invoking your right. Companies not respecting this may be grounds for suit.

I would love to see companies sued over this. Too many companies right now are "reviewing and assessing" religious exemptions, as if they have any right to deny this right. Most people don't have the time and money to hire a lawyer and fight this, so they either move on to a different job or cave and get the jab.
Speaking personally, I was interviewing and applying for jobs the second I got a notice that my ex-employer was going to institute a jab mandate. I didn't have time to play their games only to be denied and lose an income with a family to support.
