Meh... he's had health issues for decades. In 2003, he underwent heart surgery after collapsing mid-concert. He was reportedly diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome, which creates "an extra electrical pathway in the heart."

My daughter had this, she had an ablation at the age of 4 and it was corrected. It's an easy fix, the problem is that for adults if it kicks in it will literally stop your heart. That's probably what happened to Meatloaf, caused permanent heart damage.
