The German government wants to shut down Telegram, because they believe this would end the countless demonstrations and "Spaziergänge" (walks) against Covid restrictions. You must understand that our government and the judiciary have restricted our right to protest because of muh Covid.

As demonstrations have been banned in many towns for no real reason but to shut us up, people decided to "go for a walk", every Monday, same time, same place, using Telegram as a tool. Germans like to follow rules, we are not in any way revolutionaries, but people have had enough and have been flooding the streets since Mid-december in an unprecedented amount (I just returned from a protest with 10.000 fellow-minded people). The narrative is crumbling and they do, what a cornered animal does: they attack, call us Nazis, tinfoilhats etc. They want to put the gini back in the bottle, but that won't happen.

Btw, I never heard of German government demanding to ban Trump supporters, but I might have missed it.
