Legally coercion is them making you take it. You have to make sacrifices to avoid the coercion meaning you lost something out of that exchange. Yes, you have the free will to say no, but legally it's still a forced decision.

"Give me all your money or else I will set your house on fire and kill your dog" is not really a choice.
