I bet, in many places, that if there was a vote tomorrow to kill your neighbor enough would participate to establish majority and everyone would be killed.

They have been convincing the public the we have a democracy for a long long time. I speak to others about our constitutional republic and they look as me like I am off my rocker.

For future reference. It is not 51% it is 50% + 1 vote to have a majority. That is a difference of 3.3 million votes.

Before Democracy
To change political leadership you had to raise an army that, ideally, was bigger than the current leader's army and fight it out. If you won, you became the political leader.
Then the Greeks said, "Hey, instead of us killing each other, let's just count up the number in each army, and whoever has more will be leader without the bloodshed." That's the birth of Democracy.
That's also why the founders of the USA were wise and only gave the vote to white, landowning, men. These were people who had some resources, mostly had their shit together, and could support a soldier or a few soldiers.
Then we gave the vote to everyone, including faggots, idiots, and other weak people. And guess which party they vote for?
Maybe we should return to the old ways...
Democratic method is fun, but it really shouldn't matter who is in office as long as they are promoting the Republic in a way that best serves it. The duality created with the party system is just a dividing tactic. Being a land owner meant that you had stock in the Republic which meant you got a say in who would represent you. We could even keep the Democratic method if we could get the people to pay attention to what is going on, but that ship sailed long ago and hasn't made it's return voyage. Perhaps that is what this is. I think it was Adam ruins everything that suggested that women during the suffrage act didn't even want to vote.

Problem is that the majority are far more concerned with being obedient than in engaging in any sort of critical thinking.
So any vote from "teh majority" is a vote for whatever the ruling minority tells them to vote for.
Makes me sad. If only a system existed....
