The new drug, called Xofluza (baloxavir marboxil), works by inhibiting cap-dependent endonuclease, which the flu virus relies on to duplicate in the human body. It’s been approve in Japan for a while.

My middle kid was offered this one week before flying home for Christmas. 1 white pill. No insurance covers it. It's $220. It indeed works overnight.
