Crypto does require a huge amount of electricity to mine. If it's the biggest country in the world for crypto mining and the infrastructure is that of a former Soviet country, crypto mining certainly could have such an effect.

I’m laughing at the irony of harvesting something to be used as a token for money but then ends up breaking the mechanism used to harvest it. I think this is what the libs are so concerned about. Sustainability
