Ecumenism, movement or tendency toward worldwide Christian unity or cooperation. The term, of recent origin, emphasizes what is viewed as the universality of the Christian faith and unity among churches.
I've seen some that have taken this even farther, changing the word Christian into "religions," and opening the door to Hinduism, Buddhism, and many others.
Let us define Christianity.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Add to this^^ "repent of your sins and be washed clean in the Blood of Christ."
That's it. Anything more than this is false doctrine. God loves you more than you can even imagine. He does not place snares and stumbling blocks in your path, he removes them. He stands at the door and knocks, answer and He will sup with you. You do not have to do anything else but answer the door, regardless of what other men tell you.
Galatians 1:8 KJV But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Search Paul's teachings for yourself. Understand what salvation means for yourself. It's your eternal soul that is on the line here. Do you care enough about it to read a few chapters?
Here's what John said about it
2 John 1:10 KJV If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
Ecumenism. Receive whatever, no questions asked. I'm not preaching against saving souls. If ecumenism was even slightly about that, I would be one of their cheerleaders. Ecumenism has defined itself by taking on the spirit of the world and denying Jesus Christ while doing it. They force you to accept their pagan belief system. Ecumenism takes the doctrine of the Blood of Christ, throws it into a blender and mixes it up with all of the heresies of the world. And you are not allowed to question what has emerged. They do not seek the Truth.
Colossians 2:8 KJV Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Without Christ, the Great Awakening is nothing. With Christ, we can do all things. I write this OP to caution my brothers that not all things that say they are of Christ, are of Christ. We need to discern as much as ever before.
Don't forget Matthew 16 and the "leaven of the Pharisees."
I watched an interesting sermon on that last night. Once the leaven is in the lump, there is no getting it back out. You have to dispose of the lump and start all over again. We should all pray that this is metaphorical. And guard the lump with the full armor, just to make sure.
You can like it or not, but Christianity is incompatible with other religions. There is one Truth, one God, Jesus Christ. People who try to tell you differently are setting you up for the one world beast religion described in Revelation and being pushed by the Pope among others. Put your trust in Jesus, not in esoteric "transcendence."
It is worth watching the long video on freemasonry by Altiyan Childs. It is important to understand that freemasonry and new age demonic teachings are tightly linked and share much of the same symbology. It is doing the work of the antichrist.
From Luke 13: He said to them, 24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’
“But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
26 “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
27 “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’
From 1 John 4:2-3 "Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world."
It is worth watching the long video on freemasonry by Altiyan Childs.
Added to the playlist.
It took me few days to get through it all and its totally worth it. It was a video that I would credit towards my conversion from atheism to Christianity.
That's awesome that you found Christ, all the angels in Heaven truly do rejoice. Welcome home!
I submit your testimony, to all others, that speaking the Truth leads to the salvation of the deceived. In contrast to this, covering the faults of others with a blanket, hiding them, does this lead to salvation? Or are we ushering them into damnation? People can think on their own but they must be given the Truth, so that they can discern it from the lies. What is this hiding of the Truth that we, as supposed Christians, engage in?
That's a good question that Jordan Peterson has answered very convincingly, in my opinion.
Why does Jordan Peterson sell out theaters and books to young men and women when he talks about the Bible? His talks are about taking on massive responsibility for their own lives and of their community. It's very counterintuitive that this would be popular. Everything Jordan talks about goes against current cultural norms. That's the key.
Jordan invites his students to take on a massive, all consuming spiritual journey. A hero's journey of spiritual proportions, if you will. It's exciting. Watching him talk about the Bible and where, how and why we fit in to that story is like reading Lord of The Rings and envisioning myself on the Journey to destroy the ring. It's epic. It inspires awe. Awe inspires one to bring forth the best version of themselves. The Bible inspires awe in us and subsequently calls forth the best in us.
There is an objective beauty in the Bible and we are attracted to beauty. We want to be like that which is beautiful and we are willing to make whatever sacrifice is necessary in that attempt. Jordan brings out that beauty and magnifies it for those of us living in the rat race of hedonism and idolatry.
On the flip side, the Christian church has largely acquiesced to cultural norms in a futile attempt to gain cultural approval. This resulted in a diluted message with no exciting spiritual journey of epic proportions. Who's gonna make any sacrifice without an epic journey? It's an impossible sell. So the Church lowers the barrier. Small message - Small sacrifice. It became something you might do on Sunday or on Christmas.
Subsequently, it wasn't hard for the culture to excite the younger generations with messages of sex, drugs and rock and roll to fill the religious void. It's easy to understand that in light of the Jordan Peterson phenomenon.
Christ Jesus is the only one whose religious symbol is him dying on his Cross. All other Revelators did not Perfect Perfection; they did not commit to the Ultimate Sacrifice and lay down their lives for the flock out of Love. We remember Jesus in his moment of greatest triumph as well as greatest suffering.
He is one of a few to successfully climb the cliff of spiritual enlightenment, but unlike those few who reveled in their accomplishment and guided us with words from their lofty perch, he did not rejoice in his victory. He looked at those still struggling below, realizing they couldn't make it on their own, and that he would never get a chance to share eternity with them. So, he cast himself back down that he may show others the way he took to the top, such that we can join him in Eternal Paradise, even if that means climbing the cliff over and over and over again to guide every single one of us to the straight and narrow path forward.
He comes to take our burdens upon himself; he comes to us when we are certain to fail by our own weight of sin, and he grabs our hand and places it on the correct rock. It's up to us to hold tight and follow the path he shows us or let go and fall into the pit.
This is why he is indistinguishable from God, all prophecy and circumstance aside. He is the model human, the template of Perfection of Perfection, by which we cannot hope another could be closer to God.
If we were to sit down with the goal to determine the preferred nature of God, the one thing that makes God God, we would inevitably arrive at the conclusion that the only God we would admit as the One True God is the God of Love. Love is incomplete without Sacrifice, which would mean the fullest act of Love is that of Self Sacrifice.
No other human, in either history or fiction, has ever come close to doing what Jesus did, and suffering as he did, entirely for the sake of others. His entire life was dedicated to service for his fellow man.
For that reason alone, we must confess that Jesus is our Lord and Savior.
Heroes save the helpless. Saviors will save the Heroes as well as the helpless, and pay any price to do so. That is the meaning of Jesus' title of Lord of Lord, and King of Kings. He is not the first Man person, that title goes to Adam, but he is the First Among Man, that is to say, the Son of Man. He is the prototypical Man for which all Creation acknowledges as the intent and function for their existence. All other men fall short in comparison. He is the rule and level by which the Foundation of Creation is set upon.
Why is this so? Because none other before or since have ever been as a cloth to be dragged through the dirt of this world and come out clean on the other side. He not only defeated the odds, he defined them. He showed what was possible. He showed that Perfection not only can be obtained, but that he is the Perfect form of Perfection, all to give us hope and the promise that we may be as clean as him some day -- him washing clean all our sins as he washed the feet of his Apostles.
All Jesus cares about are us, his Family. The only other being we can hope to think in that way is God Himself, which is why it is safe to proclaim Jesus is the Son of God, inheritor of the Kingdom, and the one with whom God is well pleased, indistinguishable from the Mind of God so as to be equal to God.
Awesome witness, my brother.
His entire life was dedicated to service for his fellow man.
This cannot be said enough, He came to serve us. In love. And commanded us to love one another as He loved us. By serving them as He did.
