Had an Explorer many years ago. It would suddenly stall in the middle of driving it. You'd lose the power steering in the process -- not much fun when you were in the middle of going around a bend.
Complained to Ford about it. They said we didn't know how to drive it. Did some digging and found an internal safety sheet that showed they knew all about the problem.
Our Explorer was the one and only Ford we ever owned. I don't think we had even 2000 miles on the SUV before it started stalling out on us. It was as dangerous as heck to drive it. Was like riding a mule that suddenly decided it had had enough.

Guess who bought the truck back from us. ;-)

My first and last Ford was a Mustang whose tire, still attached to the rear axle, passed me on the road to the girl's house for a long 4 day weekend.
When your tires get to your destination before you do, that's a problem, fren!
