Trump said it is going to get colder. Why? Because before this horseshit global warming money grab, science was predicting the globe cooling possibly culminating in a mini ice age.

I think the real reason for 30-40 year cycles is that it is the typical length of a scientists career. So, if you make a forecast 30 years in the future you will never have to explain if it turns out to be wrong!
