Not only have I heard of it, prior to my "awakening" I thought it was pretty much the coolest thing ever. I read all about it, every paper, every video, etc.
Now I still think it's cool as fuck, but I also recognize that all of these technologies have the potential for extreme harm. With this tech the levels of potential harm are unbelievable. Trusting any of these organizations to "do their due diligence" and "not be evil" would be idiotic at this point.
But like all tools, just because they have the potential for harm, that doesn't mean we shouldn't use them. We shouldn't throw out all hammers just because hammers can be used to break someone's brain case. I mean, that very capacity may be useful soon against zombies! (Remember, always double tap.)
I will keep my eye on this, and who knows, maybe even some day I will employ this technology. But not without substantial understanding and constant due diligence on my part.

Always listen but never trust.
