written words can only compel by persuasion. It requires linear ideas that can be perceived by the reader. A particular paragraph can be read multiple times to grasp the meaning of the author. If the logic is flawed, it becomes revealed and the power of persuasion is lost. I do not know a single person that is an avid reader that has succumbed to the broadcast narrative. I'm sure there are some out there, but i do not know any of them.
Also reading requires active participation and attention. While audio/video is much more passive.
The attention span of many is fleeting. This is a part of the difficulty in breaking the hold over the majority of the populace. I'm not sure how this is resolved, it is a puzzle too complex for me to tackle. Even with all the information in hand, the path forward is shrouded in an enormous amount of variables that make choosing the next move extremely risky. I believe this is where super computers have their value. Running millions of scenarios to try and determine the best move going forward is a task that computers can excel at. Even then, you increase your odds, but there is no guarantee.
