Yes but a sample has to be reflective of the general population, fren. Anyone could have posted this to a specific interest group with low vote counts like that.
Like asking more democrats than Republicans their opinion on Trump.
Yes but what do you mean by low vote counts? Because the total sample size of 8000 or so is small compared to the city of Ottawa?
I mean that's not necessarily as much of an issue as I see the poll taking votes from random people on the net who may not be from Ottawa.
If they could ensure only qualified voters were tallied, then the 8000 person sample would be much more reflective of current sentiment regarding Ottawa covid restrictions.
Not just city of Ottawa, I'm in the northeast US and just voted. When anonymous internet people can vote you'd need much larger vote counts to get a more accurate sentiment
But with a larger vote count of people from all over the world voting, that wouldn't reflect the sentiment of Canadians though. Which is what the poll seems to be looking to measure.
I get that but I'm sure everyone here voted and wherever else this was posted. It's fun to look at but really doesn't tell us much more than 8000 people from the internet voted.
These types of political polls always have people jumping on to turn the results. Had it been region locked, or a phone poll to homes in Alberta, we'd be able to more comfortably say these results are at least somewhat accurate.
