Funny how the sarcastic and quick to judge are usually in the wrong.
Poilievre said public and private debt.
The combined public and private debt of the US surpassed $80 trillion in 2020. US private debt is over 235% of the gdp, so... Almost $60 trillion now. Add that to the $30 trillion in public debt, the US is about $90 trillion in debt right now based on the same metrics as Canada's $9 trillion.
Poilievre never said Canadians have 3x the debt of Americans. Someone who is either misinformed or doesn't know what they're talking about said that and when I questioned it, and rightly so, others decided to downvote and ridicule it.
Business as usual..
Canadians and the Americans are in the same boat financially.
All I asked is what is the basis for the claim of $9 trillion debt. World debt clock indeed shows the US at $30t. Canada at $1.8 trillion.
I take it you guys that assume I'm too dense to absorb what the guy said and simply take it for fact failed to click the link I posted.

If Canada's debt is $9 trillion then the US debt is not $30 trillion.
Per capita debt is very close between the US and Canada.
