I grew up in the 90s pledging allegiance to the Queen every morning before O Canada. The RCMP is the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Canadians have grown up saying RCAF. Military personnel swear allegiance to the Crown. Yesterday the RCMP insisted that the Coutts truckers would have their vehicles impounded by the Crown. We celebrate Victoria Day every year.
I'm not saying you're incorrect, but none of that sounds independent from the Crown.
How do you down-vote a top level post? I've see it in the count, but see no way to do it myself.
"The Canadian Armed Forces is the unified military of Canada, comprising sea, land, and air elements referred to as the Royal Canadian Navy, Canadian Army, and Royal Canadian Air Force."
RCAF is the Royal Canadian Air Force, NOT the Royal Canadian Armed Forces. Never has been.
