I question the assumption that it would have ignited a civil war. Many things have taken place in the last few years where dire predictions were made about the unrest that would happen and............ virtually nothing did happen. The death of RBG was supposed to be such a huge distressing event to the Left yet when it was finally announced there was barely anything. Lots of other things like that. I think we put way too much weight on dreading how everyone will react to something. We have to focus on seeing that what is done is what is right, regardless of consequences.
