Agreed. It was all very suspicious. It just started to look as if we might get somewhere and then the meeting happened and all bets were off. We were told that everything had been passed to the AG. Then it all went quiet.

Didn't a family member of Fann's get a large contract awarded around that time - or have I made that up?

Anyway, it is difficult to criticise too much because "they" play for keeps. Remember the fiance of the Georgian governor's daughter? Imagine if those kind of threats were made. What would you do?
