Interesting concept. I recall long ago, far away, when I had a teacher along the way who introduced me to the concept of "buzzwords," or as he called them, "charged language." He meant words that are charged with subliminal appeals to the emotions rather than the intellect. Ever since then I have bee alert to such language when I read things, sort of my own app running in the back. ground of my brain.
Of course what is a "buzz word" for a leftist publication like The Guardian would have the opposite effect coming from a right-leaning publication.
Side question: Does the UK even HAVE a right-leaning publication?
One of my proto-red-pills growing up was a recognition that language arts classes had a consistent tendency to teach about charged language and critical thinking, then spend the entire rest of the semester both demonstrating and falling for charged language with no ounce of critical thinking. I couldn't understand how almost no one else would see it when I brought it up
Yes, same here. To this day I have conservative friends send me things that, while nominally seeming to be correct in substance, are full of charged language that appeal to emotion over intellect. Maybe it's because of our dumbed down education system that no longer bothers to teach critical thinking.
Now I will admit that sometimes in my personal writing style, say in emails to fellow travelers, I will use charged language, but I expect higher standards from the conservative media, print and televised.
Daily Mail is interesting. One of the few companies not owned by globohomos.
I see lots of red pill shit mixed in with blue pill and sjw and celeb news.
it's weird.
The thing I remember about my last visit to England (2012) was the proliferation of free newspapers at every Underground station. Sort of take your pick among a variety of papers. I can't recall if The Guardian was one of them.
