Hey guys I posted the other day about my dad being extremely sick. We are still in the hospital and I’ve been able to be with his this entire time as he was testing negative. They have tested him FOUR times. Only tested for the flu once. Why are they testing so much? To get what they want?? Well today, they got what they wanted and it came back positive. Up until this point they have been treating him for bacterial infection and have said he’s improving. I asked if their new “treatment plan” included remdisivir and they said yes. I immediately told them absolutely not, we are declining treatment. They are giving steroids but I’m freaking out. If I leave this room, I am not allowed to come back now thought I’ve been allowed to come and go freely for 4 days.
HELP. I don’t know what to do. Do I take him out of here?? He’s still receiving antibiotics which have helped and he needs but I am NOT playing these Covid games. If a patient tests negative 3 times, (4 if you count the missing test) WHY ARE YOU STILL TESTING???? What do I do?? He needs oxygen and antibiotics.
Sidenote: Steroid given was decadron. Any info on this would be good too
We argued this today with the doctor in a heated conversation. At this point, the decision I need to make is if I take him out of here in his condition or let them continue to give the antibiotics/steroids and watch their every move.
If a doc argues with you huge red flag. Get out of there pronto with Dad.
If you stay, do not leave him alone. Get him to walk as much as possible too. If you leave, I can send you some good homeopathic remedies that helped me with the pneumonia. There are some doctors and nurses on here, you can usually tell by the advice. Don’t check him out unless they are sending you with scripts and oxygen
EDIT: get him on some NAC immediately. It helps the lungs expel the mucus. Can get from Walmart delivery
Oh I’m watching everything they do while we’re here. Calling his Primary doc tomorrow to see about home treatment and get a second opinion. His vitals are looking really good tonight so let’s just keep hoping for improvement. I’ll look into the NAC for sure. Thank you
