Trump also spent most of his adult life as a Democrat, and donated to both Dem and GOP campaigns. He is as effective as he is partly because he has thoroughly studied the enemy, Dem, RINO, and other -- for decades.

He's also got a gift for engaging with the enemy in a way that brings good outcomes, even when the individuals he's dealing with are (or certainly seem) downright evil. I don't have any idea how he does this, but Trump's success with North Korea and China in his first term are clear examples IMO.
