Oh it is. You should research Intel of WWII and Vietnam vs Ground Forces. Lots and lots of stories of frustrations between Intel/Command, and actual front-line forces and supplies. There wasn’t any operation that didn’t go without massive hitches. Wars truly take more time coordinating things, than the actual shooting. For example: most people don’t know that it took several months to coordinate the taking of Iwo Jima. Once the ships arrived, even though they already had Intel Maps, it took several more weeks because the Japanese had repositioned everything. So US Forces had to discuss plans from the Admirals in Hawaii back to the ships, through officers, down to the Sgts., before they moved in. Then they had to wait for a week of ship and plane bombardment to start and end before they stormed the beaches.
Speaking of Iwo Jima, my 101 yr old Uncle stormed those beaches. As he clearly states “it was a cluster F”. He stormed 4 Islands before being bayoneted in the buttocks.
My grandfather also. He was Chief Medical Core-man of Medical Field Supplies. He and the few guys under his command, had to actually run supplies from the landing boats to the Field-Medics. He spent lots of time in fox holes on Iwo Jima and Saipan. He was extremely lucky to make it back home, surviving 2 beach/island invasions. His pictures I have from both invasions are both horrible and amazing.
Info and Intel don’t always shake hands well or perfectly with logistics and front line forces in war. It’s that simple.

Interesting way of putting it....
