I have investments that send me annual prospectuses wherin the postage exceeds the growth of the asset for the given timeframe. It's frustrating but these organizations have marketing budgets and on average the marketing benefits far outway the expenses. That being said, they probably have an opt out option that allows you to eliminate this expense.
