The Soviet Power only typified this. There was a saying that the Soviet leaders adored either typists or ballerinas. High-ranking communists treated ballerinas, actresses, and singers as high-end prostitutes. Communism breeds depravity.
I recall reading "The Naked Communist" by Cleon Skousen many years ago. The book was written in 1958. Have you heard of it? He lists 45 goals the Marxists formulated to destroy the United States. It was an absolute eye-opener to me back in the 1970s. Skousen was constantly attacked for the rest of his life for his publication. It most certainly triggered America's leftists. But today, we see very clearly he was 100% right.
My point here is that I absolutely agree with you. If anything, Stalin was unfaithful and had countless mistresses. There's been written quite a bit about the illegitimate children of Joseph Stalin had. Needless to say, Stalin didn’t bring happiness to any of his women including his two marriages. Lidia Pereprygina was not Stalin’s first Siberian mistress either. A few years before, in 1911, there was a widow named Maria Kuzakova, who Stalin seduced Maria and abruptly left, leaving her pregnant. Shortly after heir son Konstantin Kuzakov (1911-1996) was born. Stalin never acknowledged him, although he was aware of him. Joseph Stalin was a despicable character. He had other mistresses as well.
Some people surmise the loss of Stalin's first wife sent him down the path of being a ruthless dictator. Stalin's first wife, Ekaterina “Kato” Svanidze was his true love, but when she suddenly died, Stalin deeply grieved her death. His colleagues had to take Stalin’s gun away to prevent his suicide. During the funeral, Stalin jumped into Ekaterina’s grave and had to be pulled out. In writing about Kato, Stalin said --
"“This creature softened my heart of stone. She died and with her died my last warm feelings for humanity.” — Joseph Stalin
It is said that if Ekaterina had lived, Stalin, the dictator, wouldn’t have been born.
In a just society, man's law is made with good intent. However, the ancient Greek School of Rhetoric has long influenced lawyers to argue both sides of law perverting it in many instances. As you said, "'legal' doesn't constitute moral". As an example of this, the age of consent is not a biblical term. This agrees with your statement. However, the laws establishing an age of consent reflect a biblically supported desire to protect children. This is why in a 'just' society man's law is made with good intent. The question is -- Do we have a 'just' society?
Thanks for your input. I almost thought you were perhaps flirting with the “let’s lower the age of consent” mantra which floats not only with the commies on twitter and Reddit, but also here on this very platform.
Of course not! I was showing how the age of consent laws have changed in the last 125 years. And who knows, maybe the 18 year old age of consent laws of today has little to do with moral grounds, but rather 'something' else. By Stalin's own words, he amounted to being a misanthrope and monster. As I mentioned, Stalin's depravity goes much deeper than the pedophile claim you made though. I suppose all of that unfortunately comes with the territory of having power to abuse. Stalin was not in anyway a good guy.
The laws of consent have become increasingly politicized. I know this departs from your original premise regarding Stalin, but the politicization and stigma of being wrongly accused is widespread and very damning. Perhaps, you remember the Roy Moore smears when he ran for the AL Senate? I recall these political smears that were used against him. Too often deep state actors use this like a stiletto to silence and destroy dissidents and truth seekers. It certainly destroyed any chance of Roy Moore for elected office.
