The closer we get to God, the Harder Satan attacks us. He has been hot and heavy after me these last few weeks. The day after my brother died, I had to put my husband in the VA Hospital. We both had Covid during the holidays. I beat mine in 2 weeks but he started having other problems. He tested positive when I got him there. He had the "long haul" that lasts a long time but it attacked his liver (which is compromised "cirrhosis") from years of drinking. His abdomen swelled worse than any pregnant woman I've ever seen, so I knew he had to go to the hospital. He is a stubborn man and it took me a couple weeks to finally get him to go.
After 2 rounds of monoclonal antibodies, 4 liters of fluid drained from abdomen, 8 hour breathing treatments and a double dose daily of water retention pills, he got to come home. His abdomen is still swelled a bit but at least he can get around much better. The liver should go back to functioning better soon; I hope.
My brother wanted cremated with a family memorial. We are having his Celebration of Life Memorial this Saturday the 19th. It will be like a family reunion of sorts, but that's what he wanted. Potluck.
My Pastor was in the hospital about a week before my brother died. He had blood clots on his lungs. He is home now. And several members of my church was out with Covid. Quella, a choir member, had Covid along with her husband. Her husband died from it about 4 days later. So Satan is after all of us.
We are none of us safe from Satan. I pray daily for the Lord to keep a hedge of protection around my family. When I feel like I am at war with Satan again, I pray really hard. I tell Satan to "flee from me." And then I feel safe again.
Thank you for being such a good friend and for caring. It is people like you who we all need in this battle we are fighting now. Keep up the good work and may God bless you with very good things all your life. Mary
