I 🧡 this so much/proud of the autists. worked with many ASD students over the years (probably one myself, but old enough to avoid the label) was always dismayed by the way they were treated by AEA, etc. no one could see how f'ing smart these kids are, and now they get to show the world🇺🇸
yes that's definitely the case, we don't hear as much about the kids on the other end of the spectrum. but maybe not such a bad thing. sped departments are some of the wackiest bunches in the entire school system/not a lot of common sense, would enable poor behaviors in the students just because of some autism training they went to. they'd underestimate a lot of nonverbal kids too, or push them in unnecessary skills. pure madness most days, thankful I was able to retire early/help kids from the outside.
yes, that is a perfect example; we had to take all kids regardless of their self help skills, then they'd want us to teach them the Gen-ed curriculum, but try to make it at their level, pure idiocy, rather than trying to help the child with daily life. it's all about the money, they get so much per IEP level/student/testing levels, etc.
Schools here actually wanted the special students to take tests on paper, when many of them either couldn't hold a pencil, use a pencil, or knew what a pencil was. All the children were lumped into one classroom, regardless of what they could or couldn't do. My wife actually got one of the nonverbal students to start talking. A very happy day.
I have a friend whose son has Aspergers and has done a ton of research, he’s 21 now. She introduced me to this metal detox that I take daily. It’s expensive but I feel like a million bucks. Anyway, there are a ton of parents on there whose children have severe autism. The stories are pretty incredible. She sends them to me occasionally. Some have never spoken a word and are now speaking sentences. I’ll ask her specifically for who she follows if you’re interested. Just thought I’d share if you want to research more. This is the stuff:

There’s all kinds of stories like this and I know there’s groups on Instagram and FB if you’re on those.

I hope it helps and I’ll keep y’all in my prayers! A lot of the people I’ve heard stories from believe it was caused by the vaccines and they’ve seen improvements. It helps the body detox the metals that have built up or were injected. It also tastes like water so it’s not a fight for the kids to take. I’ve learned so much in this forum with homeopathic and natural remedies for things.
Speaking from personal experience, this is accurate. Forcing us to learn some meaningless uninteresting BS, then attempting to discipline us, then telling us as to how we / our worldviews are "wrong", and then, trying their level best to have us conform to some fucked up idea of a (so-called) "valuable contributor to society" by fucking BULLYING US (TF???!) --- just because we refuse to play by their rulebook of how things are meant to be done?
Fuck THAT. NOT happening. Period. Endofstory.
Grapevine has it that it is now the best hobby in town ;) ;)
Lol I was just talking to the guy who turned me onto q about something like that. I told him about the researchers who were 'radicalized' for trying to engage the boards and basically got converted while trying to debunk their theories and ideals. He said his wife basically had the same thing happen to her. She dove into religion to try and level up her atheism rank only to find the truths that were kept from her. It was kind of incredible to witness her growth from a spoiled brat to a responsible mother.
yeah it's criminal how they force their worksystems on ASD kids, then get mad when they won't perform like their teacher's manual says. good that you could see through it. I was never much of a stickler for attendance because I knew how corrupt schools are, also know that if you teach an autistic student the basics, they can do the rest on their own.
😊
I have Asperger's and was pushed out of college.
High school was easy for me, so I had four years of perfect attendance. Students were segregated according to scores, so I was with just a few people most of the day. The teachers, for the most part, were great. There was one course that was boring and going a lot more slowly than I could take. The teacher saw that I could do the work without further instruction, so he let me do the rest of the course at my own pace. I finished the course before Christmas and used the rest of the year as a study hall.
I wish college hadn't sucked so much.
