Honestly, U.S. was part of the problem that made Japan into our enemies anyway.

The way we treated them after WW1 was really shit, and I'd have a bunch of bones to pick too.

Doesn't excuse Japan's attack, of course, though one definitely can say we retaliated a little too vigorously.
