I am convinced that Troodoh and his regime quite intentionally created the opportunity to invoke emergency powers. Their recent steps have guaranteed a very high number of dead-enders among the protestors. When you see single fathers who had their child kidnapped and bank account frozen, what is left for them? There is no partial settlement, no promise, no threat of arrest or rubber bullets, nothing left for that father except force or restoration.
There are a lot of dead-enders in Ottawa. These aren't the hire a mob of onesy-wearing sweeties who talk tough in hordes. These are grown ass men who have no shits left to give.
Most likely, the government will make their move today or tomorrow, because Canada has a 3 day weekend coming up. The protest in Ottawa will likely be historic in proportion, reach critical mass and result in a no-confidence vote for Trudles.
Gov't back against the wall versus dead-enders. Going to be spicy.
Where does it say peaceful protestjng os prohibited? It literally says "i) any public assembly that may reasonably be expected to lead to a breach of the peace,"
That means peaceful protests are allowed, thats what the cotozens in Ottawa are doing.
What am I missing here?
Peaceful is not a subjective thing. Its pretty clear whats peaceful and what isnt. If the cops wanna arrest Peaceful protestors then they are going agaisnt the law, I doubt they wanna do that en masse.
Okay you are arrested? What good does that do? They cannot srrest every single protestor. This isnt gonna work in a big group of hundreds of people, so what do the cops do then?
Yes there is a court required you don't just get thrown directly into prison instantly, they still have to prove you violated to order to convict you.
Martial law is when military are patrolling the streets and theres a curfew, this is not martial law.
You just wrote a paragraph arguing semantics...
Arrests mean nothing. They cannot arrest every protestor, and the people who are arrested will have their charges dropped and get an opportunity to sue the city.
You still have never answered my biggest question which is, how are a couple thousand police gonna arrest tens of thousands of protestors? It is not possible.
Cops decide on the street, and yeah will arrest a couple people, but like i said before its meaningless, arrests are meaningless. there's thousands of hours of peace and hundreds of swirn affidavits. You think a cops word is better proof then that?
ON SUMMARY CONVICTION. People must go to court and be proven guilty to be convicted dude. How am I wrong on this?
Yeah i get that but when you say martial law it has a colloquial meaning. To use the term Martial law where everyone believes that to mean that theres miltary on the ground and curfews when in reality none of that is hapoening you are using that term to be sensational. Call it Martial law when it actually resembles martial law.
Its hilarious that you keep quoting the act to me when you don't even know what these things mean. They are talking about personal liability, you cannot sue individuals but sueing a whole city or police force is different. The cops also have to be following the order for that to apply, so if they arrest someone whos proven to be peaceful they can be held laible.
In that last part the bigger point was that they cannot arrest everybody and so the arrests they make are meaningless. The most importsnt point of my argument as well, which you seem to have no rebuttal for.
Even people on the ground, former RCMP agree with me that its Sabre rattling.
