Why would big pharma even research for cures to stuff if cures are so threatening to them and they never would intend to release a cure? Cures take time and effort to truly research and it can be expensive. Why would they dump all sorts of capital into such things when they'd never make a profit off them?

They need cures for those they deem worthy at the top to receive them. Also it looks “good” to be researching cures and is an excellent money laundering scheme.
