You might want to watch a few more on the rules of numerology =) My intro level understanding:

• Letters --> numbers
• You add up the numbers of each letter and do gematria (see a website for specifics)
• Sometimes a string of numbers, like a date, are dealt with as digits from 1-9. 0's get dropped. You add all of them up. Sometimes you have to do a second or third reduction of the result to get down to a single digit. This gets used by Masons a lot to get to 7 (where the G in their symbol comes from).

Sometimes the number is just the number.

• Timestamps may correspond to Q posts. When this is done, military time is often used as a means of expanding the "Q clock."
• Numbers in images may correspond to Q posts
• Sometimes the number is derived from subtracting a number of days between two pointed posts (ex. in this post, there are 1288 (1289 inclusive) days between the two posts) and this "delta" points to something relevant.
