If your info is true and it helps you cops are obligated to disclose it. Infonis used toneliminate the innocent t all the time.

Having said that, shut the fuck up around cops and lawyers, even lawyers who you work with. I was once told by a pros3cutor not to say anything around him that he could use if he ever ends up against me in court because he would use it.
