The problem you’re describing has been going on for centuries: allopathic medicine creating lifelong customers on a subscription service.
As u/Lapstrake said, this is more about money/control than anything else. You don’t kill your customer. You make them sick for life and convince them the solution is for them to take more of your poison. How anyone still falls for it I have no idea.
