We recently finished The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis (homeschool read-aloud), and this is a parallel of Jadis the witch of Charn.
She attained the spell to destroy all life by doing horrible perverted things, and used it out of spite because she lost the war she started. Felt zero shame. Believed she was entitled to rule and if not, they weren't worthy of her and she'd wipe it all out to start again someplace else.
Was her own god, and despised anything true and good.
