We have our own home-made iodine solution nasal and throat sprays, made by my hubby so I don't have the exact recipe. I work from home so don't use it often but he is vigilant about using it every day after exposure to the public.
You can also use food grade hydrogen peroxide mixed with saline. There is some debate about the concentration, I've heard anywhere from 0.5-3% (the higher the concentration the more likely irritation is, so definitely don't think more is better here, 1% is what I use).
