Sorry, this is not true. Water condensation from AC units and especially from dehumidifiers is not considered potable water. You still need to distill it or purify it somehow. And if you get to the point where your water source is AC units, then it's likely that there would be no power to run the AC units. We're talking about SHTF events. A better source? Costco, Walmart, Sam's, etc. You can actually BUY gallons upon gallons of water for about $1 / gallon. It stores very well in long term storage. I have one room in my house devoted to water and food storage, and began preparing years ago. But it's not too late to start now.
If you go that route, learn how to distill the water. A small bench-scale distillery can be made from copper tubing, a pot of boiling water, and a receptical to receive the distilled water. It's energy intensive, you have to have some kind of fuel to burn for the process. You have to heat the water, cap off the pot so all the steam goes through the copper tubing (it should be in a horizontal spiral), and the drippings from the end of the tubing will be purified and you capture it in a clean receptical like a bottle or bowl. Examples of small distiller designs can be found on the internet. Good luck, fren.
Oh, and one other thing... if you're still in a sizeable city, get out if you can and while you still can. Those places will become death traps if TSHTF, especially if you're unarmed.

It's a last resort, granted, but I would never have thought of it and in a city shutdown, it could make a difference, even just as a reserve.

Nice one, thanks.
