It's always worth analysing your job to see if you really give to society as much as you get.
I know some middle managers who have a big net negative contribution in their job alone. ie. the institution would be much better off if they weren't employed.
Anybody laying a cable in a road, even inefficiently, is much much more useful than these expensive pen pushers. Yet the productive people are looked down on.
