It happened also in December, but then there were about 15 Chinese planes. It happens every few months and probably always has. Russians test U.S. air space often... and we test theirs too. It doesn't really mean anything.
The timing is suspect. You know before those planes were dispatched that they considered the optics and going ahead with it today ... is a message. OP is correct. Eyes on, indeed.
