I understand where Putin is coming from, and I cannot fault him for his views, opinions, and decisions made regarding these operations, but I really wish he'd start pointing fingers more specifically at those who are really stirring up this trouble, instead of just blanket-blaming the United States as if it were a monolithic entity.

Its a process. Just like Trump can't say certain things outright, Putin can't do the same either. My guess is, at the end of all this the real people behind the scenes will get exposed - I think thats the real goal.
It's not only the U.S. he's criticizing. He mentions NATO's continuing eastward expansion as a perceived threat. Putin is not an ally, but it is intriguing that it seems to have taken a thug like Putin to put sand in the engine of the global hegemony. For that reason at least, Putin may deserve a hat tip.
