All of Eastern Ukraine is ethnically Russian (and speak Russian) and they don't want to be ruled by Western Ukraine, so much so that they've operated their own zones and have been functionally independent areas since 2014.

Western Ukraine came to power via coup d'etat, funded by Soros color revolution, so what they want is what Soros wants.
