Kind of reminds me of the necklace Esmerelda gave Quasimodo in the Hunchback movie. It was a woven band necklace that was a map - it disclosed the location to the quart (or court?) of miracles where the gypsies were hiding.

Anyways wouldn't it be interesting if that crest was a map?
