There is a LOT of work to be done to scale.

They can’t use the normal scalable cloud providers everyone else would. (Amazon, Google, Azure). All the major are all a part of “big tech”. Amazon would happily host them, and then pull the plug to ruin them.

They have to build up from scratch, what most platforms never have to bother with.
