Any chance the inflation we notice in real life is connected to digital currency?

The less the dollar is worth the less the BTC is worth...

It seems like a hedge against itself..

Haha, just sold my house and I have a modular home coming. I will owe the bank nothing and have $ for a venture... Assets seem to have real value... I just don't want to get caught with my pants down... I feel like the barter system could work for me... Any secure suggestions?

Gold and silver are really the safest way to save wealth. Cryptos if you understand them and believe in them. If you do buy cryptos make sure you keep them in a safe paper wallet (or a hardware wallet if you trust those companies).
