She’s really not black. I don’t think she was raised black or thinks black or had black friends. She’s a silver spoon East Indian whose knowledge of black people and black culture comes from TV shows she watched as a kid. Her whole aura is that of the imposter, the poseur. She constantly feels uncool because of this performative fakery. It’s like her lie about Tupac. She was probably listening to The Bengals and Tiffany in college. Or even The Smiths. Super whitebread stuff. But she can’t admit that in today’s NPC culture, so she has to pretend to be a proud strong black woman. I don’t think that’s her own self-identity though.
