Satan = Lucifer.

Lucifer was one of the most powerful Seraphim's created (Michael and Gabriel are the other two). Lucifer became prideful, then fell (Pride cometh before the fall), taking a third of the angelic hosts with him. He was cast down to Earth where he seduced Mankind to obey/follow him rather than God. Lucifer is the King of the Earth (Prince of the Air) until that time Jesus will cast him (Satan) into the Lake of Fire for Eternity.
