I’m pleasantly surprised that of the republican primary turnout
Republican Primary
It’s happening people… the republican primary line is 3x as long as the democratic primary. I know it’s not a general open election, but still. Just seeing a MUCH larger turnout in a DEMOCRATIC STRONGHOLD is pleasantly surprising. Even the people in the democratic line are surprised to see how many people showed up for republicans (to primary shitbags like Crenshaw)
500k voted for Beta O'dork, I cant understand it! that guy is a big 'ol sack of shit. reps had 200k total more primary votes than dems so theres that. Should Abbott lose for any reason im going to have to leave the best state in the union, sucks.
I actually didn’t vote for Abbott. He’s not as strong as he claims to be. A very reactive governor rather than a proactive one. Why didn’t he impose fines on businesses for STILL “requiring” you to wear a mask despite his executive order?? Why isn’t he standing up for employees who are being harassed by their job for not receiving the vaccine? For example, United Airlines employees?? Why isn’t he defending Memorial Hermann employees?? Our border issue obviously hasn’t improved. Dems are FLOODING to TX from Cali, why not put some type of preventative rapid inflation/housing issues in place to protect those who already live here? He’s all about the money… nothing more
me neither I voted for Alan West, same reasons. Abbott is a kiss ass and it letting all these Silicon Valley giants move to Texas which lays the groundwork for turning Texas blue. idiot.
I don't live in Texas, but everything you've said is right, except for the cali to Texas part. Seriously, people not to stop with that. It's been proven over and over again that in literally every case of interstate migration from blue to red states over the last 20 years, at least 90% of people moving to the red state are conservative and moving because they fell like the red state fits their values and beliefs better.
That being said, I'd personally go with Alan West if I were ya'll. Just saying.
The problem there is your assumption he actually got 500K votes legitimately, which we all know he didn't. Because just like every other liberal, he can't win without cheating. But unlike most liberals, he can't win even with an absurd amount of cheating backing him up.
It makes me sad that people unironically think Beta O'Rourke is a liberal.
Trump is closer to being a liberal than most of the idiots with a D after their name.
"but trumps a conservative." Precisely my point. A conservative is more of a liberal than a Marxist ever could be...
not sure about that, astonished to drive around inner Austin and seeing all the pro democrat yard signs. Im sure inner cities are where his votes are coming from, esp Austin, which is sad.
I'm not trying to start an argument here, but this is part of the problem. We can't have it both ways here. People on this board can't seem to make up their minds.
Either the left is cheating at an absurd level, which ALL of the evidence points to, or they're not and there's just that many stupid people. When we do things like this we're trying to have our cake and eat it too.
Austin proper has nearly a million people (I think it's like 980K-ish). When you have massive amounts of people in very small areas, it's VERY easy to focus on only one or two prominent visuals. In this case, we're talking about liberals having pro dem signs in their yards.
Alright, say 20% of Austin is actually liberal. That's 196K lefties in the city proper, all who are going to be MUCH louder, and MUCH more in your face than the dead tired hard working blue collar conservatives who just want to be left alone. Thus giving off the impression that there are many more liberals in the city than there actually are.
I can take this a step further. In most cases you'll find that certain areas of the city seemingly have a much higher frequency of obvious lefties. Well, that's because of something called the Gates Gulch Effect. People live where they feel they're most welcome and among like minded individuals. Lefties will congregate together in "progressive neighborhoods" and "progressive business districts". Likewise Conservatives will tend to gather in conservative leaning areas and business districts in most cases. You can also apply this to demographics. Black people will tend to live where the black population is higher, mexicans where there are more mexicans, etc. etc.
All of these factors combined together with general media attitude and our own mildly defeatist mentality allows for the impression that certain areas are hopelessly blue, despite the liberals actually being a small minority.
Look at San Francisco, THE most liberal city in the nation. They recently had a bunch of leftist's booted off their school board and city council in a forced special election, and the GOP contenders are the favored to win every seat that was forcibly vacated.
If that's happening in San Francisco of all places, I doubt Austin or any other city in TEXAS is hopelessly lost.
I hope your right, but right now iAustin is a shit show. the city council and mayor are running it into the ground, Even with Paxton and Abbott running the state. I dont thing those totals were manipulated IN THIS CASE, I think theres enough dumbass liberals flocking here to carry that vote number. That is all
